Photographer ErrE does some down right phenomenal art. The portraiture with gels and wispy coloured lights around the stunning models just pulls you in. It feels as though the people are caught in a storm of colours and rainbows; it’s truly magical. Coupled with the vulnerable expressions of the models it brings a balance of light and harmony to vulnerability and darkness that is also well achieved from the dark shadows. It’s gorgeous work that makes you feel and look.

Where are you from?

I am originally from Colombia but I live in Canada.

How did you get interested in photography?

[Ever] since I was a little kid I always dreamed of becoming a photographer. Back home that was a dream that couldn't be accomplished. I remember seeing a picture of a skate board on a skate park and you could see the skateboard close to the camera on a wide angle setting and you can see all the ramps at the back. That picture made me fall in love with photography for good.

What inspired your work?

My inspiration or my favorite style comes from old futuristic movies (Cyberpunk). I love this type of look and that is what I am going for in my pictures.
[ed. Note:
Description
”Cyberpunk is a subgenre of science fiction in a futuristic setting that tends to focus on a "combination of lowlife and high tech" featuring advanced technological and scientific achievements, such as artificial intelligence and cybernetics, juxtaposed with a degree of breakdown or radical change in the social order.” Wikipedia]

Who had the biggest influence on your photography?

My biggest inspiration comes from the well know photographer Jake Hicks. I am currently pursuing my identity and I feel my style is yet to be set.

When did you decide to take your photography seriously?

I became serious about photography 2 years ago.

What equipment do you use? Any reason for that brand over another?

I currently use Sony and I had for years. I believe Sony has fit my needs [and] I think I will stick with them until something better comes to the market.

How would you describe your style?

I like to describe my style as Cyberpunk. That is what I am trying to pursue.

What do you want people to experience when they see your work?

I want them to feel or go back to that old modern style Cyber vibe.

If you could combine three different animals to make a super animal what would the three be, and what would you call it?

I will combine a Tigger, Lion and and Eagle. Egrlion

What do you look for in a model?

I look for unique and fashion like models. I really like to work with unique individuals. Not with the stereotype of models.

What feelings and emotions do you have right before a shoot?

I am always exited and nervous. The set ups are harder than what they seem to be. I am still learning and becoming ME as an artist and there is more room to grow still and I hope to find my own way soon.

What is the biggest challenge you've had to overcome?

The biggest challenge I have encountered is ME. I didn't believed in me enough and I thought I would never achieve these results. I am glad I proved myself wrong.

Is there an aspect of photography that you would like to be more proficient at?

I would like to learn more about natural skin retouching and I am currently working on how to better control my lights.

What does your work say about you?

I intend to transmit my love, passion and dedication for my work. I love details and I hope people can see how much work I put into the retouching process.

What do you see when you take the shot? When you see it on your camera? When you see it on your computer? When you've finished editing? And when you see the final image later?

I am always unsure what I am going after. Usually when I see a model I get an immediate vibe. Thereafter, I choose a color combination and based upon the models clothing I will pick the colors of the lights.

Do you prefer Oreo or Fudgee-O cookies?

None of the above but I wouldn’t mind an ice cream shake with some Oreo cookies mixed into it.
